As a result of the operations, numerous organisational documents and digital materials were seized.
Earlier, a large-scale operation, KISKAÇ-35, targeting the FETÖ terrorist organisation was conducted across 23 provinces in Türkiye, resulting in the detention of 47 individuals with suspected links to FETÖ. The operation, which took place over the past two weeks, saw 33 of the detainees arrested, while one was released with judicial control measures.
Authorities also seized a significant volume of organisational documents and digital materials during the raids. KISKAÇ-35 follows another major operation, KISKAÇ-34, which took place the previous week in 23 provinces and led to the detention of over 100 suspects with ties to FETÖ. In that operation, 110 individuals were taken into custody, 36 of whom were arrested, while two were released under judicial control.
The individuals detained in both operations face charges related to membership in a terrorist organisation, promoting FETÖ activities on social media, and financing the group's operations. The authorities also targeted those previously convicted for their involvement in FETÖ-related crimes and those wanted in connection with ongoing investigations.
These operations are part of Türkiye’s ongoing effort to dismantle the FETÖ network, which has been implicated in multiple criminal activities, including the failed coup attempt of 2016. Originally established in the 1960s as a religious movement, FETÖ gradually infiltrated various sectors, including the military and judiciary, before its true agenda was uncovered during the coup attempt.
