Türkiye launches missile from F-515 frigate for first time VIDEO
For the first time, a missile has been launched from Türkiye’s TCG Istanbul (F-515) frigate as part of the Vertical Launch System project.
The National Vertical Launch System (MIDLAS) developed by Roketsan has been integrated into the TCG Istanbul frigate after testing on the ground. The HISAR-O RF medium-altitude air defence missile was adapted to sea conditions and launched by using MIDLAS, Caliber.Az reports citing SavunmaSanayiST.com’s message on X.

Besides the HISAR-D RF missile for medium-range air defence system, SIPER Blok-1 and SIPER Blok-2 missiles for long-range air defence system are planned to be deployed.
President of the Turkish Defence Industry Agency Haluk Gorgun said that SIPER, SAPAN and ATMACA missiles may be launched from the MIDLAS system in the coming period as part of the project, which is being developed.
