Turkish authorities use the term "neutralize" to indicate that the terrorists either surrendered, were killed, or captured.
The PKK, recognized as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the US, and the EU, has conducted a 40-year terror campaign resulting in over 40,000 deaths, including women, children, infants, and the elderly. The YPG is the PKK’s Syrian affiliate.
Since 2016, Ankara has initiated three successful anti-terror operations in northern Syria to prevent the establishment of a terror corridor and facilitate the peaceful resettlement of residents: Euphrates Shield (2016), Olive Branch (2018), and Peace Spring (2019).
