Türkiye opens international freight permit scheme for Kazakh trucks
13 June 2026 15:56
Türkiye has approved a new framework allowing trucks registered in Kazakhstan to obtain permits for international freight transport through Turkish territory, according to a presidential decree published in the country's official gazette, Resmi Gazete.
The decree, signed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, authorises the issuance of transport permits to Kazakh-registered vehicles under an annual quota that will be determined by Türkiye’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
Under the new arrangement, the permits will enable Kazakh trucks to transport goods that arrive in Türkiye via rail, maritime, or air routes and are subsequently shipped by road to third countries.
