Türkiye, Pakistan condemn Israeli airstrikes on Iran
Ankara and Islamabad have strongly condemned Israel’s recent airstrikes on Iranian territory, describing the attacks as serious violations of international law and threats to regional stability.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye, in a statement posted on X, denounced the strikes as a blatant breach of international law and a provocative move that fuels Israel’s strategic policy of destabilising the region, Caliber.Az reports.
The ministry highlighted that the attacks coincided with renewed negotiations over Iran’s nuclear programme, suggesting that the Israeli government, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is unwilling to resolve issues through diplomacy and is instead jeopardising regional stability and global peace to serve its interests.
Türkiye called on Israel to immediately halt its “aggressive actions, which risk provoking wider conflicts.” The ministry reaffirmed Türkiye’s desire to avoid further bloodshed and destruction in the Middle East, urging the international community to take urgent steps to prevent the escalation of war.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry also issued a firm condemnation of the strikes, labelling them “unacceptable” violations of international law and a serious threat to regional peace and stability.
“Pakistan strongly condemns Israel’s military strikes inside Iranian territory. These actions are a blatant violation of international law and the UN Charter,” the Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan has said. “Iran, as a sovereign nation, has every right to defend itself under Article 51 of the UN Charter.”
Echoing the Foreign Office’s stance, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also issued a stern condemnation of the Israeli action. In a message posted on X (formerly Twitter), Dar wrote:
“Strongly condemn unjustified Israeli attacks on the Islamic Republic of Iran, which is a brazen violation of Iran’s sovereignty. This abhorrent action has shaken the foundations of international law as well as the conscience of humanity and gravely undermines regional stability and international security. Pakistan stands in solidarity with the Government and the people of Iran.”
