29 September 2022 18:10

Deputy speaker of the Armenian parliament, special representative for normalisation process between Armenia and Türkiye Ruben Rubinyan has said that the meeting of special representatives was held in July 2022.

The well-known agreement on opening borders for citizens of third countries and the possibility of direct air transportation of goods were discussed, Rubinyan said in an interview with the Armenian service of Radio Liberty, APA reports.

He reminded that his recent meeting with Turkish Special Envoy for Dialogue with Armenia Serdar Kilic was held on July 14, 2022.

He noted that a meeting was to be held at the border on September 14, 2022 between special representatives of the two countries to discuss the implementation of these two political agreements.

Rubinyan said that the meeting was postponed at the request of the Turkish side due to the clashes on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border during that period.

He said that the meeting has been postponed for an unknown period.

The special representative emphasised the importance of implementing these agreements.

"The agreements must be implemented because there is a political agreement and political responsibility," Rubinyan said.
