Türkiye prepares for repatriation of fallen soldier after fatal C-130 crash VIDEO
All the remains of the military personnel who died in the crash of a C-130 transport aircraft on the Azerbaijan–Georgia border have been recovered.
Türkiye's Ministry of National Defense announced that their repatriation to Türkiye is scheduled for Thursday, November 13, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
The ministry confirmed that the aircraft’s flight recorders — the FDR and CVDR, commonly known as “black boxes” — have been transported to Ankara for analysis.
As a precautionary measure, all C-130 flights have been suspended since November 12. The ministry stated that flights of aircraft cleared for operation will resume after detailed technical inspections.
Authorities also reported that several online accounts disseminated personal information of the deceased before official announcements. “Criminal cases have been initiated against these individuals,” the ministry said.
The crash occurred on November 11, as the C-130 was flying from Azerbaijan to Türkiye. The ministry has released the names of the 20 military personnel who lost their lives in the accident.
