Türkiye produces 500th Bayraktar TB2 strike drone

The 500th Bayraktar TB2 strike unmanned aerial vehicle rolled off the assembly line in Türkiye.

The drone with the number "T500" was presented at the Özmemir Bayraktar Technology Center in Istanbul, according to Anadolu.

The ceremony participants drew attention to the effectiveness of the Bayraktar TB2 and Bayraktar AKINCI drones, which are in service with many countries around the world.

At the same time, the prospects of new developments by Turkish designers, including the Bayraktar TB3 strike UAV and the Bayraktar KIZILELMA unmanned military aircraft, are indicated.

Engineers and designers took a joint photo against the backdrop of TB2 SİHA, whose flight time exceeded 600,000 hours. At the same time, it is indicated that Bayraktar TB2 strike drones are 93 per cent made up of Turkish components, which minimized the country's import dependence in this area.

The developers recalled that Bayraktar TB2 drones, starting from 2015, have been successfully manifesting themselves in various areas of operations, including the Euphrates Shield, Spring Shield, Olive Branch and Pençe operations areas of the Turkish Armed Forces. The same drones were used in Libya and Azerbaijan.

At the same time, in Ukraine, against the background of the war that has been going on since February 2022, Bayraktar TB2 also proved to be successful, and even songs are dedicated to Turkish-made drones.

To date, contracts have been signed for the supply of TB2 SİHA drones to 30 countries, including 4 NATO countries and two EU countries.
