The Turkish delegation was led by Major General İlkay Altındağ, and included senior defence officials and diplomats.
During the meeting, Major General Altındağ held talks with General Saddam Haftar, Deputy Commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA) and Commander of the Ground Forces. The dialogue centered on enhancing military cooperation and unifying Libya’s defence institutions—an effort long advocated by Ankara as essential for national stability and territorial integrity.
“The discussions underscored joint efforts in support of the initiative ‘One Libya, One Army,’” the ministry said, signaling a renewed commitment to fostering cohesion within Libya’s fragmented security architecture.
Also in attendance were Türkiye’s Ambassador to Libya, Güven Begeç, and Consul General in Benghazi, Serkan Kıramanlıoğlu, further underlining the diplomatic weight behind the visit.
Following the talks, General Haftar was hosted aboard the TCG Kınalıada, a modern Ada-class corvette of the Turkish Navy, where both delegations engaged in further discussions on naval cooperation and regional maritime security.
