Türkiye puts nuclear energy at center of new strategic energy vision
Türkiye is working on a new energy architecture, with nuclear power set to become a key pillar of its strategy, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar said at the 31st Baku Energy Forum.
According to him, the new framework will include renewable energy, energy efficiency, upstream oil and gas investments, as well as development of the Sakarya gas field.
Bayraktar added that Türkiye also aims to expand its energy activities abroad, including in Africa, Libya, Somalia, the Middle East, and Central Asia.
He emphasised that nuclear energy will be at the centre of the country’s new strategy for full-scale electrification.
“Electrification will become the main trend in the market. The country also plans to become a producer of critical minerals, integrating them into the value chain,” the minister stressed.
