Türkiye records 134 terrorist surrenders in first half of 2026
A total of 134 members of terrorist organisations have voluntarily surrendered to Turkish security forces since the beginning of 2026 as a result of persuasion efforts carried out by the authorities, TRT Haber reports.
According to the Turkish Interior Ministry, the operation was conducted in coordination with intelligence units of the General Command of the Gendarmerie, the General Directorate of Security, and Türkiye’s Department for Combating Terrorism.
Among those who surrendered were two individuals listed in the “grey” category and one in the “yellow” category of Türkiye’s wanted persons list.
The Interior Ministry reported that 115 individuals have been arrested. Judicial control measures were imposed on 14 others, while legal proceedings involving five additional individuals are still ongoing.
