Türkiye rounds up famous faces in anti-drug sweep

Authorities in Türkiye have detained 17 individuals, including several well-known public figures, as part of a narcotics operation targeting prominent names.

According to officials, those taken into custody include singer Murat Dalkılıç, Kaan Tangöze — the frontman of rock band Duman — actor İsmail Hacıoğlu, and fashion designer Kemal Doğulu, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.

The operation was carried out by the Narcotics Crimes Department. During searches conducted at the homes of Tangöze, Hacıoğlu and Barış Talay, police discovered a total of 52.46 grams of marijuana.

Authorities said efforts to apprehend eight additional suspects are ongoing, while legal procedures for those already detained are being handled by the relevant police units.
