The Bayraktar TB3 drone, developed by the Turkish Baykar company, successfully completed tests involving takeoff and landing on a short deck with a 12-degree incline, and also performed a 46-minute flight over the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas.
These tests were successfully carried out aboard the TCG Anadolu ship. The Bayraktar TB3 has become the first military drone in the history of global aviation to successfully take off and land on a ship with a short runway.
The drone is equipped with a domestically-produced PD-170 engine, developed by TUSAS, a national optical system ASELFLIR-500 created by Aselsan, and boasts advanced capabilities for reconnaissance, surveillance, targeting, and weapons control. With its foldable wings and beyond-line-of-sight communication, it is capable of carrying out operations over long distances.
