The GÖZDE system converts 500-pound Mk-82 general-purpose bombs and SERT-82 penetrator bombs into precision-guided munitions. These enhanced bombs are capable of being deployed from F-16 fighter jets and UAVs, equipped with GPS/INS or GPS/INS/Laser guidance systems.
A key component of the GÖZDE system is the SAGE-EGI, a MEMS-based integrated INS/GPS navigation system developed by TÜBİTAK SAGE. This system, along with the addition of laser guidance and an upgraded stabilizer design, allows the GÖZDE to more effectively target moving objects than existing Mk-82 guidance kits.
In a separate development, ASELSAN reported a strong financial performance for 2024, achieving a net profit of TL 15.2 billion ($417.2 million), largely driven by increased international contracts and robust exports. The company secured $6.5 billion in contracts during 2024, marking a 32% year-over-year increase, while its outstanding orders grew by 38%, reaching $14 billion.
ASELSAN's global presence continues to expand, as the company completes its structuring in six new countries as part of its international strategy. This expansion aligns with its vision to offer local support to users worldwide.
The company’s impressive performance also saw it climb five spots on the prestigious Defense News Top 100 list, now ranking 42nd among the world’s largest defence industry companies. ASELSAN’s market capitalization ranking on Borsa Istanbul also improved, rising from 7th place in 2023 to 6th place in 2024.
