Türkiye's Fidan holds talks with Nordic nations, UK at NATO meeting in Brussels Syria, Ukraine, Russia on agenda
On December 4, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held talks in Brussels with his counterparts from several Nordic countries and the United Kingdom, on the sidelines of the NATO Foreign Ministers' meeting.
According to a source from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Fidan also planned to meet with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba during the event, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
The discussions included ministers from the "Nordic Five" – Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Iceland – and marked the first meeting in the 5+1 format.
The talks focused on the situation in Syria, the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, and security issues in the Arctic region.
In addition, Fidan met with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, with Syria also being a key topic of discussion.
Foreign Minister is scheduled to hold a meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba as part of the NATO gathering in Brussels.
