Türkiye's industrial production expands by 4.5% in January

Türkiye's industrial production in January expanded by 4.5 per cent on a yearly basis.

Among subsectors, the mining and quarrying index decreased by 7.6 per cent, the manufacturing index increased by 5.8 per cent and the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply index dropped by 5.7 per cent in January 2023 compared to the same month last year, Anadolu reports citing TurkStat.

On a monthly basis, the industrial production index was up by 1.9 per cent in January.

"When the subsectors of the industry were examined, mining and quarrying index increased by 4.4 per cent, manufacturing index increased by 2.1 per cent and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply index increased by 1.4 per cent in January 2023, compared with previous month," TurkStat added.
