Russian Federation Council speaker, Armenian PM hold one-on-one talks
Russia’s Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko met with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on June 6 as part of her official visit to Armenia.
According to the Federation Council’s press service, the meeting lasted "much longer than planned,” Caliber.Az reports.
The talks began in a one-on-one format and significantly exceeded the scheduled time, the press service noted. Discussions were later continued in an extended format with the participation of delegations from both sides.
Details of the topics discussed have not been disclosed.
The Russian delegation, led by Matviyenko, is in Armenia on an official visit, which includes participation in the 10th Russian-Armenian Interregional Forum. This marks Matviyenko’s second visit to Armenia as head of the Federation Council; her last visit took place in November 2015.
Among the delegation are Federation Council Vice-Speaker Yuri Vorobyov, Defence Committee Chairman Vladimir Bulavin, First Deputy Chairman of the International Committee Vladimir Jabarov, Deputy Chair of the Social Committee Yulia Lazutkina, Regional Committee Deputy Chair Alexander Uss, and committee members Alexander Karelin and Andrey Chernyshev.
