Türkiye's largest warship ready to be handed over to Navy PHOTO

TCG Anadolu, which will be Türkiye's largest warship, will be handed over to the Turkish Naval Command on April 10.

A contract signing ceremony was held on April 6 for the construction of three new ships as part of the STIF-class frigates, which is a continuation of the Defence Industry Directorate's MILGEM project for the navy, Anadolu reports.

Turkish Defence Industries President Ismail Demir said at the ceremony that the TCG Anadolu ship will be handed over to the Navy Command at a ceremony on April 3.

Answering questions from the press after the ceremony, Demir said they intend to complete the integration of Bayraktar TB3 into TCG Anadolu this year. He also noted that indigenous Hurjet aircraft is also planned to be used on the ship, but it is too early to talk about the deployment of the Anka-3 drone.

TCG Anadolu, a Multi-role Landing Ship (LHD) project, will be able to transport a minimum of a battalion with its own logistics support to a specified location, without requiring base assistance.

TCG Anadolu will carry four mechanized, two hovercraft and two personnel evacuation vehicles, as well as aircraft, helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles. With a length of 231 metres and a width of 32 metres, the total displacement is approximately 27,000 tonnes.

The ship will be an important factor in increasing the power of the Turkish navy, especially with the deployment of armed unmanned aerial vehicles.
