Türkiye’s one-week anti-drug blitz results in nearly 1,000 arrests
Türkiye’s Interior Ministry has announced that 974 suspects were detained in large-scale operations against drug traffickers carried out over the past week across 69 provinces.
According to a statement published on the ministry’s official social media account, 381 of those detained have already been arrested.

The raids were conducted under the coordination of the General Directorate of Security and the republican chief public prosecutor’s offices. A total of 3,659 personnel took part in the operations, supported by 23 aircraft, including helicopters and UAVs, as well as 52 narcotics detection dogs.
Of the 974 suspects detained, 381 were arrested by court order, while judicial control measures were imposed on 98 others. Procedures for the remaining detainees are ongoing.
During searches at identified addresses, authorities seized 1.916 tons of drugs and 725,312 narcotic tablets.
