Türkiye’s PİRANA KİDA kamikaze drone ready for naval warfare VIDEO
Türkiye has officially unveiled the PİRANA KİDA, an advanced unmanned kamikaze naval drone developed by Makine ve Kimya Endüstrisi AŞ (MKE), a prominent state-run defence company.
PİRANA is the latest addition to Türkiye’s growing fleet of unmanned naval strike systems, following earlier models such as ALBATROS, ULAQ KAMA, and ÇAKA, Caliber.Az reports via SavunmaSanayiST.com’s message on X.

MKE announced that the PİRANA KİDA is fully operational and ready for deployment. The system is designed to detect and destroy hostile naval targets using MKE’s cutting-edge technology in warheads and detonation systems.
Offering both autonomous and remotely operated modes, the drone detonates upon impact, delivering significant damage to enemy vessels. It is capable of infiltrating ports and naval base areas, enabling effective maritime strike capabilities in contested environments.
“The PİRANA KİDA provides a cost-effective and highly efficient solution for asymmetric naval warfare,” MKE stated. “It enables damage to enemy ships, penetrates restricted zones, and supports effective offensive operations for the navy.”
The system's autonomous architecture allows it to operate independently without operator input, making it ideal for missions where stealth and surprise are critical. According to MKE, PİRANA is expected to become a valuable asset in future asymmetric maritime conflict scenarios.
