Armenian expert David Karapetyan has analyzed the recent statements made by former Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media.
Cavusoglu had declared that if the West incites Armenia to war, Türkiye will stand with Azerbaijan.
Karapetyan's expert opinion is that this is a clear indication to Armenia that Azerbaijan has always had unwavering support from Türkiye and will continue to have it.
According to Karapetyan, this statement sends a clear signal to Armenia that Azerbaijan has never been alone and will never remain alone, as Türkiye is always by its side.
He also reminded of the Shusha Declaration, which pertains to military cooperation and alliance relations.
Karapetyan believes that Türkiye's official stance on Azerbaijan's protection is evident from this declaration and Cavusoglu's statement. Karapetyan pointed out that Türkiye will immediately become involved in military action in the event of any border encroachment or incident on Azerbaijan's border.
He believes that Cavusoglu's statement is not just the opinion of a former foreign minister but the official position of Türkiye.
Karapetyan suggests that a higher-ranking Turkish official may make a similar statement soon.
