Türkiye’s Van province hit by 5.2 quake, tremors felt across region

A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck eastern Türkiye’s Van province early on April 4, according to the country’s disaster agency.
The tremor was recorded at 08:52 local time in the Tuşba district, the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) said, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
The quake occurred at a depth of approximately 7 kilometres.
It was felt across several surrounding provinces, including Ağrı, Bitlis, Iğdır and Hakkari.
AFAD stated that, as of its latest assessment, no adverse incidents had been reported following the earthquake. Field inspection and damage assessment operations are ongoing, the agency added, while extending well wishes to those affected.
