Türkiye seeks extradition of FETÖ and PYD members from 119 countries
Türkiye is continuing its efforts to secure the extradition of members of the FETÖ and PYD organisations who are hiding abroad, Justice Minister Akın Gürlek said.
According to him, the Turkish Ministry of Justice has submitted a total of 2,950 extradition requests to 119 countries concerning 2,765 individuals linked to FETÖ and PYD. The requests were prepared in accordance with international law standards and include evidence of alleged crimes, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
Gürlek noted that files concerning senior FETÖ figures have been updated with new evidence and resent to relevant countries for consideration.
The highest number of requests was sent to Germany (777 files), the United States (728 files), and Belgium (142 files).
The minister stressed that extradition efforts are ongoing and systematic, and that all dossiers are regularly reviewed and supplemented with additional evidence.
