Türkiye set to create gas hub for supplying Europe with fossil fuel

Türkiye is set to create a gas hub through which fuel will be supplied to Europe, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.

“Russian President Vladimir Putin, as you know, proposed distributing natural gas through Türkiye to Europe. We are carrying out preparatory work in this direction,” Erdogan said at a meeting with youth in the city of Sanliurfa in the country's southeast, on December 4, Caliber.Az reports, citing the TRT TV channel.

Earlier in October, Putin spoke at the Russian Energy Week forum and voiced the idea of creating a hub on Turkish territory, where the lost volume of transit through the Nord Stream can be redirected.
