Türkiye stands for peace in Ukraine through talks
Turkish Presidential Spokesman Ibrahim Kalin has said that the only way out of the Ukrainian conflict is to support efforts through negotiations.
"The only solution [to the conflict in Ukraine] is that everyone should support the efforts to achieve peace through negotiations, rather than to wage a war," Russia’s Gazeta.ru quotes Kalin as saying.
He added that President Erdogan's visit to Lviv is a continuation of diplomatic initiatives of Türkiye, which supports Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that Türkiye and the UN did not try to put pressure on Ukraine as part of the talks in Lviv.
The statement was made amid media reports that President Erdogan hoped to convince President Zelenskyy to sit down at the negotiating table with Russia’s representatives and stop hostilities.
