Türkiye successfully test-fires air defence missile Siper
Türkiye continues tests of its domestic long-range air defence system (Siper).
According to Anadolu Agency, Ismail Demir, head of the Defence Industry Directorate under the Turkish Presidential Administration, said the Siper system was successfully tested.
"In recent tests, Siper demonstrated its ability to destroy an object moving at high speed at a distance of 100 km. I congratulate everyone involved in this project," Demir wrote.
The Siper missile was launched from the Sinop firing range with the participation of experts from two of Türkiye's leading defence companies, ASELSAN and ROKETSAN.
Earlier, Türkiye developed and began serial production of the Hisar-A+ and Hisar-O+ short- and medium-range air defence systems.
The first deliveries of Siper air defence systems are scheduled for 2023.
