Türkiye suspends shipping via Dardanelles due to dense fog

Türkiye has suspended the passage of transit ships via the Dardanelles strait in both directions due to dense fog.

It is reported by Gazeta.ru with reference to the management of the service for the movement of ships in the strait.

“The Canakkale Strait Vessel Traffic Service (Dardanelles - ed.) warned ship captains on the radio about the need to enter from the north and south and announced that from 05:30 the strait was closed for the passage of transit ships in both directions,” the message says.

At the same time, the local ferry service continues.

Earlier it was reported that the Bosphorus was closed to navigation due to heavy fog.
