Türkiye: Teen attacks police station in İzmir, killing two officers PHOTO / UPDATED
Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has issued a statement regarding the attack on a police station in the Balçova district of İzmir.
“A police station in İzmir was subjected to an armed attack. Unfortunately, as a result of this heinous assault, our first-class police chief, Chief Inspector Muhsin Aydemir, and our police officer Hasan Akın lost their lives. Police officer Ömer Amilag was seriously injured, while officer Murat Dağlı sustained minor injuries. The suspect in the incident, 16-year-old E.B., has been detained. An investigation has been launched,” Caliber.Az quotes Yerlikaya as saying on his X page.
According to reports, the suspect in the killings is 16 years old. He lives on the same street, has no criminal record, and has not previously been detained for any offences.

An armed attack occurred at the Salih İşgören Police Station in the Balçova district of Izmir.
Preliminary information indicates that a 16-year-old carried out the attack using a pump-action shotgun, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
Two police officers were killed in the incident, and one officer sustained serious injuries.
An investigation into the attack has been launched.
