Türkiye unveils high-power GAZAP bomb in test footage VIDEO
Footage released from Türkiye has revealed test trials of the newly developed GAZAP aerial bomb, a high-powered thermobaric weapon created by the Turkish Ministry of National Defence's Research and Development Directorate (MSB AR-GE).
The GAZAP bomb, first showcased at the IDEF 2025 defence industry exhibition in Istanbul, is a 2,000-pound (907 kg) conventional bomb designed to deliver significantly enhanced destructive capability compared to standard munitions, Caliber.Az reports per SavunmaSanayiST.com on X.

According to technical specifications, the bomb detonates into 10 core fragments and releases up to 10,000 metal particles, significantly expanding its lethality and blast radius. These fragments are dispersed at a density of approximately 10.6 per square meter—nearly three times the standard density produced by the NATO MK 84 aerial bomb.
Despite its advanced destructive profile, the GAZAP bomb maintains full compatibility with existing guidance systems used for MK-84-class munitions, making it easily integrable into current aerial platforms.
