Türkiye unveils prices for first homegrown electric car

The Turkish company TOGG has unveiled the price and date of entry into the market of its first electric crossover.

According to the publication Yeni Safak, while the trade name of the model has not yet been disclosed.

The first concepts of the TOGG C-SUV crossover appeared in 2019. The design of the model was developed by the Italian studio Pininfarina with the participation of the Turkish designer Murat Gunak.

Turkish media assure that orders will open this week, and customers will receive the first copies of serial cars by the end of the month. The price starts from 1 million Turkish lira ($52,700). The most expensive versions will cost about 1.6 million lira ($84,300).

The car is designed on the original platform, which will form the basis of several more cars, including a sedan. Both mono- and all-wheel drive modification will be available to buyers.

In the first case, the crossover will receive one 204-horsepower electric motor. In more expensive versions, another engine will join it, as a result of which the total power will reach 408 hp. The battery capacity is 80 kWh, which will allow to cover up to 500 km on a single charge using the WLTP method.

In total, by the end of 2023, the company intends to sell up to 20,000 vehicles. At the same time, it is planned to sell the TOGG crossover not only in Türkiye, but also in the EU countries.
