Türkiye upgrading state-of-the-art warship PHOTO
The TCG ORUÇREIS frigate, upgraded at the Gelcuk shipyard of the Turkish Ministry of National Defence as part of the Barbaros semi-modernization project, successfully conducted its first control test on November 16, 2023.
After the completion of the control test, sea acceptance testing activities will be carried out, Caliber.Az reports, citing the X page of the Ministry.

The condition of one of the most modern Turkish Navy warship TCG ORUÇREIS (F-245), before and after the BARBARBOS—class frigate (YÖM) semi-modernization project:
- As part of the project, the AKREP fire control radar, MAR-D search radar, ARES-2N electronic warfare system, infrared tracking system were integrated into the TCG ORUÇREIS ship PIRI-KATS and ADVENT SYS.
— Also, TCG ORUÇREIS, which is currently armed with 4x2 Harpoon anti-ship missiles, will additionally carry 4x4 ATMACA anti-ship missiles after modernization.
— The GOKDENIZ short-range air defence system will also be integrated into TCG ORUÇREIS.
— In addition, as part of the YÖM project, many different domestic systems will be integrated into the ship.
