Türkiye urges international community to put pressure on Israel
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has said that the international community should put pressure on Israel on the issue of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
"Israel has no desire for a ceasefire in Gaza. Its rejection of the [Palestinian movement] Hamas ceasefire proposal has brought the situation to a standstill. I call on the international community to put pressure on Israel to avoid further bloodshed and a widening conflict. Any wrong step in Gaza could lead to irreparable consequences," Fidan said following talks with his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
He noted that Türkiye favours an early ceasefire in Gaza and the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid to the region. Fidan also asserted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will sooner or later face international justice for what is happening in Gaza.
