Türkiye urges swift peace between Azerbaijan, Armenia, reaffirms support for stability in South Caucasus

14 December 2024 09:21

Türkiye is committed to achieving a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia as soon as possible, aiming to establish lasting peace in the South Caucasus.

Addressing the Turkish parliament, National Defence Minister Yaşar Güler expressed this hope, Caliber.Az reports per Turkish media.

Minister Güler emphasized that, under the principle of "one nation, two states," Türkiye has consistently supported Azerbaijan for the country’s stability, highlighting that the security and well-being of Azerbaijan are inseparable from Türkiye’s own security. He reaffirmed that this position will remain unchanged.

He also described the Turkish military as "a pillar of strength that friendly and brotherly countries rely on and trust."

Commenting on recent developments in Syria, Minister Güler stressed that terrorists would not be allowed to take advantage of the country’s unstable situation.
