Türkiye welcomes efforts to resume Iran-US talks

Türkiye welcomes efforts to resume negotiations between Iran and the United States, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said in New York following his participation in the UN General Assembly session.

“It is good that efforts [to resume negotiations between Iran and the United States] are continuing, but it is bad that they have not yet produced results,” the foreign minister said in remarks carried on the Turkish Foreign Ministry’s X account.

According to Fidan, diplomatic efforts must continue “without allowing the conflict to escalate or the war to resume.” “We discussed with our American and Iranian partners how to prevent the war from spreading across the region,” the Turkish foreign minister noted.
