Turkmen, Tajik, Uzbek leaders to discuss cooperation issues in Ashgabat

A trilateral meeting of the leaders of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow, Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will be held in Ashgabat on August 4.

Documents are currently being prepared to be signed during the meetings of the heads of state, Neutral Turkmenistan reports.

According to the chairman of the Union of Economists of Turkmenistan, Yuri Aronsky, the meeting is expected to consider issues of developing economic cooperation, including in the areas of healthcare, agriculture, education and science.

The issues of further development of transport corridors, primarily railways, and facilitation of trade procedures between countries are also expected to be considered.

Earlier, the holding of the summit became known following the online meeting of Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov with his counterparts from Tajikistan and Uzbekistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin and Bakhtiyor Saidov.
