Turkmenistan blocks access to Russian news sites

Almost all Russian news sites have been blocked in Turkmenistan.

For the last few days, all foreign news sites, including those that were previously accessible, have been down in Turkmenistan, Gazeta.ru reports.

"For example, all Russian news sites. InoSMI, RIA Novosti, RBC, TASS, the sites of TV companies, where some news and so on are on. These were the last foreign news sites, access to which was still free, now it is not. (...) Given that other news sites were inaccessible even before, this definitively halts the entire information flow," a Radio Azatlyk correspondent reports from Ashgabat.

In addition, VPN services in Turkmenistan work with great disruptions. The App Store and Microsoft Store, as well as the services of foreign banks and payment systems, are also blocked.
