The partnership will also explore new opportunities in research and development (R&D) and engineering.
Speaking at the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony, Türkiye’s Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, said: “The memorandum of understanding will serve as the foundation for joint R&D and production activities across both civil and military platforms. We continue to enhance the global influence of Türkiye’s aviation industry through international partnerships.”
Note that, Embraer’s E-Jet E2 family represents the latest evolution in regional air travel, offering capacities between 90 and 146 passengers. As an advancement of the original E-Jet—of which over a thousand units were produced—the E2 series boasts significantly improved fuel efficiency, thanks to higher aspect ratio wings, geared turbofan engines, and aerodynamic refinements. Additionally, maintenance costs have been reduced, enhancing overall operational efficiency.
Türkiye’s TUSAŞ plays a crucial role in global aerospace manufacturing, supplying structural components for major aircraft manufacturers, including Airbus (A400M, A350, A330, A320) and Boeing (B737, B787, B737 MAX). Its expertise spans fuselage sections, winglets, ailerons, tail control surfaces, spoilers, and engine ducts.
This extensive experience in producing components for both passenger and cargo aircraft positions TUSAŞ well for potential collaboration in the production of Embraer’s latest airliner, opening new business opportunities in the sector.
