Two dry cargo ships carrying grain collided in the Sea of Marmara in Türkiye, a source in the General Directorate of the Turkish Coast Guard said.
Both vessels suffered material damage, Caliber.Az reports citing Turkish media.
The source noted that "122-metre long dry cargo ship HAJE HALIMEH with wheat on board, going from Ukrainian port Izmail to Valencia, collided with 169-metre long dry cargo ship ASOMATOS, carrying grain and going from Russian port Kavkaz to Israeli Ashdod near Marmara Island in the Sea of Marmara".
The first vessel sails under the flag of the Comoros Islands, and the second under the flag of Panama.
Photos from the scene show that part of the deck of the HAJE HALIMEH was destroyed.
