UAE air traffic recovers to nearly half of normal levels
Air traffic in the United Arab Emirates has recovered to nearly half of its normal level as the country gradually restores aviation activity across its airspace and airports.
According to the Emirates News Agency, citing official figures, more than 1.4 million passengers passed through UAE airports between March 1 and March 12.
In a statement, the General Civil Aviation Authority of the United Arab Emirates (GCAA) said 7,839 air movements were recorded in the country’s airspace during the same period.
Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GCAA, said the country’s aviation system had ensured the continuity of air transport while maintaining the highest safety standards for passengers.
The authority added that national airlines in the UAE have restored around 44.6 per cent of their normal operations, reflecting a gradual recovery of the aviation sector and a steady return to regular flights.
