Before its integration into the Wahash vehicle, the KORKUT system was incorporated into the ARMA 8×8 armoured vehicle, developed by OTOKAR in 2023. On the second day of the IDEX 2025 event, which runs from February 17 to 21, 2025, ASELSAN and Calidus signed a cooperation agreement.
Haluk Görgün, president of Türkiye's Defence Industry Agency, emphasised that the agreements aim to foster technology exchange in the defense and aviation sectors, enhance manufacturing capabilities, and develop joint projects.
He further stated, "Türkiye's expansion of global cooperation within the defence ecosystem strengthens our national technologies on the international stage."
The Wahash armoured vehicle is highly versatile, with a modular architecture that allows it to be configured as an armoured personnel carrier to suit mission-specific needs. Additionally, its unified design ensures compatibility with C4ISR systems, enabling effective command, control, communications, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance. It can also be equipped with a variety of weapon systems, including the BM-3 combat module, remotely operated systems, and the KORKUT air defence system, which was featured at IDEX 2025.
Developed by Calidus in partnership with South Africa’s ADG Mobility, the Wahash armoured combat vehicle captured significant attention at the 2024 World Defense Exhibition in Saudi Arabia, demonstrating its growing prominence in the global defence industry.
IDEX 2025, the International Defence Exhibition and Conference, is being held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, from February 17 to 21, 2025. It is one of the largest and most influential defence and security events in the Middle East, attracting top-tier defence companies, military leaders, and experts from around the globe. The exhibition serves as a platform for showcasing the latest advancements in military technology, defence systems, and security solutions. With a focus on land, air, and naval defence, IDEX provides a unique opportunity for governments, military organisations, and private-sector companies to forge partnerships, exchange knowledge, and explore innovative solutions to meet contemporary defence challenges.
