UK establishes first permanent office in Armenia
British Defence Minister Vernon Coaker travelled to Yerevan to inaugurate the United Kingdom’s first permanent office in Armenia.
According to Caliber.Az, citing Armenian media, the British Embassy in Armenia confirmed the event.
The embassy’s statement highlighted: “Following Minister Doughty’s visit in August, during which the intention to elevate UK-Armenia relations to the level of a strategic partnership was announced, British Defence Minister Vernon Coaker is in Yerevan today to officially open the UK’s first permanent office in Armenia.”
Prior to his visit to Armenia, Minister Coaker visited Azerbaijan on December 4, where he was received by President Ilham Aliyev. During that visit, he also held meetings with Defence Minister Zakir Hasanov and Minister of Defence Industry Vugar Mustafayev.
