Ukraine accuses Russia of blockade situation in Kaliningrad
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said that Russia itself is to blame for the consequences that were provoked by its invasion in Ukraine.
“Ukraine welcomes Lithuania's decision to stop the transit of Russian goods to the Kaliningrad region,” Kuleba wrote on Twitter, according to Caliber.Az.
“Russia has no right to threaten Lithuania. Moscow itself is to blame for the consequences of its unprovoked and unjustified invasion in Ukraine. We highly appreciate Lithuania’s principled position and firmly support our Lithuanian friends,” he said.
Lithuania, starting from June 18, 2022, as a result of EU sanctions, stopped transiting a number of Russian goods to Kaliningrad.
Governor of the Kaliningrad region Anton Alikhanov said that about 50 per cent of all cargo which is delivered from the Russian regions is banned.
Meanwhile, Russia has threatened the EU that it allegedly becomes unfettered as a result of the blockade.
Russia has no right to threaten Lithuania. Moscow has only itself to blame for the consequences of its unprovoked and unjustified invasion of Ukraine. We commend Lithuania’s principled stance and stand firmly by our Lithuanian friends. @GLandsbergis
