Ukraine appoints acting energy minister
Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers appointed First Deputy Minister Artem Nekrasov as the acting Minister of Energy on November 19, the ministry announced.
The government approved the relevant order on the same day, Caliber.Az reports via Ukrainian media.
Nekrasov acknowledged the heavy responsibility of leading the ministry during what he described as the most difficult heating season in Ukraine’s history.
He emphasised that his immediate priorities include ensuring the stable operation of the country’s energy system, maintaining transparency in processes, and restoring the trust of international partners.
He also highlighted the urgent need to mobilise resources for the repair and restoration of energy infrastructure damaged by ongoing challenges. Nekrasov pledged to do his utmost to address these issues while the government and the Verkhovna Rada decide on a permanent head for the ministry.
