Ukraine discovers graves of another 900 civilians in Kyiv region
Law enforcement officers [of Ukraine] have discovered a mass grave of about 900 civilians in the Kyiv region, which was under Russian occupation.
The statement was made by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with the Polish media, according to UNIAN.
There will be conclusions, there will be arrests, sentences, it is a matter of time. There are other things when international institutions are really slow to act and sometimes someone cannot be found or brought to justice due to a lack of certain evidence, he said.
Zelensky recalled the mobile crematoriums where, according to him, the Russian military burned the killed persons, which would complicate the investigation, adding that law enforcement officers discovered a new mass grave of the killed persons.
"They're removing the traces... There were so many dead that even though they burned, they again found the grave of 900 people in the Kyiv region. How many people died in total - no one knows. There will be consequences, there will be an investigation, then there will be a census. We need to find all the people, we don't know how many there are... Our investigative and law enforcement agencies will hold accountable all of them, but more importantly for us is international recognition," the head of state said.
He stressed that there are people in Ukraine who "will look for them all." “It's not a threat. I'm like a father, like a man I speak. I know that we have many such people. Therefore, someone will wait for the international court, and someone will wait for the night,” Zelensky added.
