Ukraine launches drone assaults on Russian gas pipelines, Moscow says
The Ukrainian Armed Forces launched another attack on the “Russkaya” compressor station, a key facility supplying gas through the TurkStream, in Russia’s Krasnodar region during the night of March 12.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, ten drones were intercepted and destroyed, and the station sustained no damage.
The “Russkaya” CS, located in the settlement of Gai-Kodzor, plays a critical role in delivering natural gas to European consumers. Russian military officials described the attacks as an attempt to disrupt these supplies. Drones were engaged and neutralized in the vicinity of the station between 3:55 a.m. and 6:45 a.m.
This follows a similar attempt the previous night, during which nine drones were destroyed over the facility, and an additional drone was intercepted during the day on March 11.
Alongside the “Russkaya” station, the “Beregovaya” compressor station of the “Blue Stream” pipeline near Tuapse was also targeted, though Russian authorities reported that it, remained unharmed.
