Ukraine receives next humanitarian aid from Azerbaijan

09 November 2023 11:31

In response to the appeals received by Ukraine, a humanitarian aid convoy consisting of electrical equipment from Azerbaijan arrived in Ukraine.

The electrical equipment will be used to restore the stable supply of electricity to the areas hit by the ongoing war, Azertag reports.

The humanitarian cargo supplied by the Ministry of Energy includes more than 555,000 metres of electric cables and wires. Humanitarian goods carried by a convoy of 14 trucks were sent to support the restoration of stable electricity supply to the affected areas in connection with the current situation in Ukraine.

Petro Lutsiv, a representative of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, who expressed his gratitude to the state of Azerbaijan for the next assistance, said that cable products were received from friendly Azerbaijan again on November 9.

"We are extremely grateful to our colleagues from Azerbaijan and the entire Azerbaijani people for their invaluable help in continuing our struggle and defeating enemy aggression on the territory of Ukraine. We highly appreciate the support given to Ukraine in such a difficult time for us," added Lutsiv.

Before this aid, Azerbaijan sent to Ukraine humanitarian aid related to electrical equipment. The total amount of humanitarian aid, including support for recovery and reconstruction, provided by the Republic of Azerbaijan to Ukraine in connection with the crisis, is more than $33 million.

Some 154 Ukrainian children who suffered from the war and lost their family members were brought to our country for the purpose of medical and social-psychological rehabilitation within the framework of humanitarian aid activities. The "Lingvist" humanitarian high school named after Zarifa Aliyeva, which was destroyed as a result of military operations in Irpen, has been fully restored by Azerbaijan. In addition, Azerbaijan is currently working to restore several socially designated objects that were seriously damaged in that city.
