Ukraine will have to “pay the price”, Kremlin spokesman Peskov says

Ukraine will have to “pay the price” for its actions in recent months, and this is now taking the form of strikes by Russian forces, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.

According to him, Russia must ensure that other countries “do not dare” to announce plans to deliver crushing blows against it, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

Peskov noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously outlined Moscow’s position on negotiations over Ukraine in detail.

Speaking about arms control, Peskov said talks with the United States on the issue should have been resumed “yesterday”. However, he stressed that such agreements require thorough preparation, so quick results should not be expected.

Peskov described the current state of bilateral relations between Russia and Germany as being close to zero. At the same time, he called the meeting between the two countries’ foreign ministers positive in itself, noting that it would be “mistaken” to draw conclusions about imminent changes in relations.
