Ukrainian drone attack sparks fire at industrial site in Russia's Rostov

Russian air defences have been responding to a drone attack on the southern city of Rostov-on-Don, local officials say.

The city’s mayor, Aleksandr Skryabin, said that debris from unmanned aerial vehicles had fallen on the grounds of an industrial facility, causing several buildings to catch fire. He did not specify which enterprise had been affected.

There were no immediate reports of casualties.

Skryabin also said that several apartment blocks in the city had sustained damage. He added that the full extent of the consequences was still being assessed.

Emergency and operational services have been deployed to the affected locations as investigations continue.
