Ukrainian drone falls near maternity hospital in Novokuybyshevsk, Russia
A drone has fallen in the vicinity of a maternity hospital in the Russian city of Novokuybyshevsk, in the Samara region, according to regional authorities.
Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev said the area came under a drone threat early on Saturday morning, with what he described as a hostile UAV later coming down close to the medical facility. Windows in the building were shattered as a result of the incident.
“Dear residents, since early morning, the region has been under attack by UAVs. The threat regime remains in place. A drone has been recorded falling in the immediate vicinity of the maternity hospital in Novokuybyshevsk. Windows have been broken. There are no casualties,” Fedorishchev wrote on social media.
He added that all infants and patients had been transferred to other medical facilities as a precaution, and that an emergency response headquarters had been deployed at the scene.
