Ukrainian drone strike cuts power in Russia's Voronezh, HIMARS hits Belgorod
The Voronezh region in Russia came under a nighttime aerial attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the night of February 23, regional Governor Alexander Gusev said on his Telegram channel.
A total of 14 drones were shot down over the city and eight districts of the region, Caliber.Az cites the governor as saying.
Additionally, air defence forces intercepted a high-speed target, the debris of which fell on an energy facility in Voronezh. The governor noted that power outages briefly affected two districts of the city.
Gusev confirmed that no one was injured as a result of the attack.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Armed Forces reportedly launched HIMARS rockets at Belgorod. According to regional head Vyacheslav Gladkov, the city’s energy infrastructure suffered significant damage, resulting in disruptions to electricity, water supply, and heating for local residents.
